NZ DRIVING LICENCE

Today, 10th August 2005 at 12.15pm, I got my NZ driving licence. After sitting for the practical test for the second time, I managed to pull through. The first time round, I was a little nervous, not knowing what to expect and how to react. I was failed, because was not consistent with the speed limits. Anyhow, I think the tester was biased. The second time, I gave much emphasis on speed and the tester, a lady, gave me very good remarks and encouraging comments. Always a smile on her face (unlike the first tester). She gave me several tips on driving in NZ and some matters to pay more attention on. Malaysians (and most foreigners) are allowed to drive with the country's driving licence for their first year of stay in NZ. Since I will be staying here for 3 years, I reckoned it is best that I get the conversion as soon as possible. For those planning to come here and convert your licence, pay extra attention to speed and signalling. NZ drivers are not always courteous but most are law abiding. All in all, Alhamdulillah! Praise be to Allah.
