PhD Journey
Here i would like to quote the speech made by Hon David Cunliffe as reported in http://beehive.govt.nz on 06/06/07. The said:
"... to address these goals (aspiration of the country) and to contribute to the transformation of our economy we must have three things:
- a piercingly clear vision of where we want to get to
- a realistic appreciation of the challenges we face
- a robust strategy to get us from here to where we need to go "
These three things are seen to be most relevant to my journey in the quest for PhD. A crystal clear vision of where I want to be in this research. What I would like to achieve at the end of this research. Keyword here is “piercing crystal clear vision”. I can only work my way to achieve if I know what I want. Secondly, a realistic appreciation of the challenges, be it personal/family, societal or educational challenges. Facing them head on, and at the same time appreciating its presence (i.e. not avoiding or running away) is sometimes difficult. But I believe these challenges are there for a reason. I’ll be a better me, InsyaAllah. Thirdly, a strategy to get from here to where I want to be. In my context, a successful research with thesis bounded ready for submission (i.e. after viva) by July 2008. Thanks to the Hon. Minister, I am reinforcing my morale. May Allah guide me through. Also to my lovely wife, who is starting her journey, All the best to you.
