Ahlan Wa Sahlan Ya Ramadhan

25th September 2006 witnessed the first day that Muslims here in New Zealand began the fasting for Ramadhan. A day later than the rest of the world, my family and I, followed the decision of the local NZ syura. This year is our 2nd Ramadhan in the land of the Kiwis. It feels like any other day, when I get on the road or in uni. We try to create the awareness in our children, though they are still too young to understand. Our fellow brothers and sisters, like Br. Muhammad and Br. Zulkarnain, are putting on some activities relevant to this holy month. InsyaAllah, if time and energy permits, our family with participate. On the 4th day of Ramadhan, I will be defending my PhD proposal in a viva voce. Scheduled at 2.30pm on a Thursday afternoon, I will be presenting my case to my 2 supervisors and 2 other panels from IIMS. I have all necessary preparations and pray to Allah that He makes things easy for me and grant me suceess, Ameen.
